Coordination Surface

This page describes what the Overberg BioRegion collectively offers and seeks. For BioHub-specific offers and seeks, see each BioHub’s own coordination surface.

Regional Offers

The Overberg’s collective offer is landscape-scale coordination across the below-dam Riviersonderend corridor, producing verified water yield, biodiversity data, and heritage-anchored regenerative tourism. Individual BioHubs tender specific services; the BioRegion holds the shared ecological infrastructure, evidence base, and policy environment that makes those tenders credible.

Currently, the Valley of Grace BioHub is the founding and only operational BioHub. Regional offers will expand as additional BioHubs form.

Regional Seeks

Verification methodology alignment. The FR31PB bond programme’s verification agent (Conservation Alpha) uses water-yield outcome methodology. The BioRegion needs alignment across all BioHubs tendering into the programme.

Landowner stewardship. Corridor-scale restoration requires stewardship agreements that cross BioHub boundaries.

BioHub formation. Coordinators and founding cohorts for anticipated BioHubs at Volmoed and Witsand.

Peer BioRegion coordination. Shared methodology with peer BioRegions operating comparable catchment contexts in other Strategic Water Source Areas.

Shared Financial Instruments

Cape Water Performance-Based Bond (FR31PB). The bond is designed as the first in a replicable series covering South Africa’s Strategic Water Source Areas. Individual BioHubs tender into this programme; the BioRegion holds the shared catchment evidence and the multi-BioHub coordination protocols that make a regional tranche fundable.
